Day Twelve

Vegas, Baby!!
We made it safely to Nevada, with a short stop at the Hoover Dam.
Las Vegas is loud and colorful!! our hotel is right on the strip and the rooms are clean. However, they do not offer free WiFi so you will have to wait until we are in Bakersfield on Sunday to see pics.
We just had dinner at the food court at the MGM Grand and on our to-do-list for tonight is: go see a show at 10 pm and get drunk. hee hee

Update with pics:

We reluctantly left our cool hotel in Williams and took off westwards to Las Vegas.

We saw people driving their houses around... this is how we will do our next roadtrip! No more unpacking and bedbugs!!

We stopped to get gas in the middle of nowhere...

Then we entered Nevada

and were like, wait, isn't the Hoover Dam supposed to be here? Ooh, is that the thing we are just crossing?!

Oooooh, there it is!

So of course we had to be touristy and go check it out. We paid 7 Dollars for parking and then walked around in the blistering heat, talking to complete strangers who wanted pictures taken...

 We also visited the gift shop, of course, and had lunch. We practically financed the Hoover Dam... lol

After I made Julia go up the stairs back to our car in the sweltering heat, we happily motored off to Vegas in our air conditioned car.

We had some trouble finding the entrance of our hotel, which was actually right behind the Flamingo. We checked in and were pleasantly surprised by our rooms.

Since we were finally in Vegas, Baby!! we couldn't resist and headed out onto the Strip.

We were a little overwhelmed with all the drunk people around us but quickly figured out what we wanted to do: See a show and have dinner!
So we bought Tickets for XBurlesque (which is not a sex show although Julia loves to call it that...:-)) and went to MGM Grand to look at the casino and have dinner.

 At this point I realized that we would not meet George or Brad even though we were at Terry Benedict's place and that I would never meet my hand twin like Joey did...

Julia also discovered this

which caused her to have another meltdown because SHE had to pay 25 USD and drive for HOOOOOURS to see the hole with the rocks in and around it...

We glammed up and went out again to see our show and drink some Margaritas.

Good thng we were a bit tipsy... cause the show was, well... Vegas-y. Lots of skin. But gorgeous girls and great dance moves!!

We think our first night in Vegas was a full success!
