Day Nineteen

Good-Bye San Francisco!! Good-Bye USA!

Our flight home was kinda crappy cause it started off with us having to repack our stuff at the check-in counter because mine was 1 pound over 50 and Julia's was 3 pounds too heavy. Fun. Not.
Then we spent almost 10 hours on a United Airplane, that was not at all comparable to the A-380 we flew in on our way to Miami. No leg-space, no touchscreen, no movie selection. But they didn't serve Bambi's mom...
We had a layover in London and then another 1 hour flight to Frankfurt.
Just lemme tell you, we were so done with traveling by the time we got our luggage and made it through customs...
My parents picked us up and we finally accepted, that indeed, it is cold in Germany. Sucks.

It was an awesome trip and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. But it's good to be home!
I slept 17 hours last night, I reaaaally missed my bed. And I washed, dried and ironed all my new clothes. I looove new stuff.:-) Now it's time to get back to normal.

Day Eighteen

We had early bird tickets for Alcatraz, so we power-walked there at 7:30. Yawn.

It was very cold and windy, esp on the island.
I think Alcatraz is so creepy... I didn't like it 8 years ago and I don't like it now. Oh well, but Julia got to see it.

We had lunch at Bubba Gump and then went on the open-top-bus and did a tour. Thanks again to Angie and Ralf who gave us their tickets!!
Cccccold!!
 Happy!
 Silly...
 Miss Paparazzo

It was so great to drive around all my favorite places that I didn't get to see on this trip but still remembered from last time.

We went back to the mall that night, again for some shopping, and to have dinner.

We finished our last day in San Francisco by experiencing an earthquake. Something I never ever want to do again. It was soooo scary!!! We were watching tv at the hotel and suddenly it boomed like a thunder and everything moved. It felt like the house was collapsing.

We packed out stuff for the trillionst time in nearly 3 weeks and went to sleep for a last time in crappy beds. lol

Day Seventeen

On Wednesday, we braved the foggy and cold weather again and walked down to Market Street, looked at city hall

while eating caramel popcorn

and walked over to Alamo Square to see the Painted Ladies. I loooove them!! There are lots of pretty houses in that area.

We were pretty beat that day, maybe all the stress from the prior days had caught up with us. So we got back to the hotel around 1 pm, braved the elevator again
and then went out later, back to China Town so I could exchange my iPhone skin.
we crossed Union Square

and went to Westfield Centre to steal some internet and update our blog. Which took foreeeeever...

For dinner, we went to the Cheesecake Factory again. Julia loved it soooo much, she had to go back! This time we got to sit on the Sky Terrace and had the perfect view of my mom's favorite place.

Day Sixteen

Okay, here is the long version of Day Sixteen. Tuesday, btw. lol

I dragged Julia up and down all the San Francisco hills

to get to Lombard Street. I looove this street and the view from there!!

We then went to Fisherman's Wharf

to get our tickets for Alcatraz and to have lunch.
I ate shrimps for the first time!!

This was also the meeting point with my colleague Angie and her boyfriend Ralf.
We also did some serious souvenir shopping!!
And hung out around Pier 39.

We had such great weather!! It was a bit windy, but not too bad. We had lunch in the sunshine.
But then all of a sudden, like I know it from San Francisco, it turned cold and foggy. I was freezing my butt off in my shorts!!

So after meeting up with Angie and Ralf, we had a fun cable car ride and walked through China Town.

We stopped at our hotel to change clothes, too, because by then the weather was like this

Ralf was amazed by the contents of our suitcases, which seemed to have tripled by the time...

We went back to Market Street and shopped a bit and then had dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. The food was so yummy and I about died when I saw my desert. I don't think I ever ate that much in my life!!

It was a great day despite the weather and I loved meeting with Angie and Ralf.
