Day Fourteen

While Julia starbuck'sed this morning, I organized our car - again!!

I am beginning to feel a slight panic when I think about having to fit all this into our San Francisco hotel room and then onto the plane...aaaah!
So to add to our pile of stuff, we stopped at the Outlet Mall on our way out of Vegas.
The Freeway towards California was totally packed and turned our 4:30 hour drive into a 6 hours drive...

We decided to have lunch in Baker, because that's where the world's biggest thermometer is, after all.
Damn fast food, btw. But so yummy...

This is the vehicle for my next roadtrip...
When we entered Death Valley, we also entered the three-digit temperature range...
We drove and drove and drove through the never ending desert....

and got gas at this amazing town called Mojave.

And then - finally - civilization! Bakersfield, we loooooove you!!!
Our motel is clean, the Borrego is right outside the door, the tv and toilet work. And no bedbugs!!!

We also discovered that we have this amazing talent: trash a room in 5 mins or less!
Aaaand we love our UGGs!!

Tomorrow is our final part of the trip, we drive up to San Francisco! We will have to get up super early because it is a five hour drive and we want to cross the Golden Gate before returning the car at 3 pm. Wish us luck that everything goes smoothly.
We can't wait to be in San Francisco and actually be in one place for more than 2 nights! Hopefully there won't be any bedbugs... haha.

  3. The only true shoes for a dusty desert are High Heels! They hold a greater distance to the dirt
    ;-)

And they look far better !!!!

  4. First of all, UGGs are made of sheepskin and that cools in the summer!
Second of all, Julia has been begging to wear hers ever since we bought them in Dallas and I finally let her last night. They are now safely back in the trunk of our car and we are back in roadtrip uniform: shorts and flip-flops!:-)
